What is First Holy Communion?

First Holy Communion is a very special step in a child’s journey of faith. It is the first time they receive the Body and Blood of Christ in the Eucharist – the heart of our Catholic life. For children who are 7 years and older, this is the age when they can begin to understand the meaning of the Sacrament and take part more fully in the celebration of the Mass.
