The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
Discovering Catholic Faith – Join Our Journey
Are you curious about the Catholic faith?
Do you feel drawn to explore a deeper relationship with God?
We warmly invite you to join the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) – a beautiful journey of faith, prayer, and community, open to:
- Adults seeking to become Catholic
- Older children who wish to join the Church
- Baptised Christians who want to complete their initiation into the Catholic Church
What is RCIA?
RCIA is not just a “course” but a spiritual journey. Guided by the parish community, participants gradually discover the Catholic way of life through prayer, reflection, and fellowship.
Along the way, there are special liturgical rites that affirm and support you, leading up to the most joyful moment of all – receiving the Sacraments at the Easter Vigil and becoming a full member of the Catholic Church.
Catechumens & Candidates
- Catechumen: someone who has never been baptised.
- Candidate: someone already baptised in another Christian tradition (with the Trinitarian formula). The Catholic Church honours and accepts this baptism as valid.
